La 1° fecha del Campeonato de los tierreros organizada por la A.C.T. (Asociación Categorías Tradicionales) y fiscalizada por la FEMAD (Federación Mendocina de Automovilismo Deportivo), en el autódromo Ciudad de San Carlos, no comenzó de la mejor manera.
Primero porque la lluvia que se precipitó dejó en malas condiciones la pista sobre todo en el curvón al fondo de la recta opuesta.
Esta situación motivó a que el comisario deportivo de la FEMAD, Javier Escribano y luego por el presidente del ente rector del automovilismo cuyano, Hugo Mari y José María Andreucetti a cargo de la seguridad de los pilotos a través de la Asociación Argentina de Volantes, les informaron en la reunión a los competidores que para no poner en riesgo la seguridad de los mismos que se suspendía la fecha.
Los pilotos en su mayoría pidieron correr y que en caso de que se rompiera la pista que la suspendieran, solicitando a las autoridades de por qué no les avisaron el sábado a la noche sobre la suspensión y no se hacían el viaje hasta San Carlos con todos los gastos económicos que eso demanda.
Escribano, les manifestó que de acuerdo a lo que menciona la C.D.A, la suspensión de la carrera la podían tomar el mismo domingo.
Entre idas y vueltas la decisión de la mayoría de los pilotos de correr tuvo éxito y se iniciaron las pruebas, disputando todas las series de las distintas categorías y las finales de la 850 Grupo 1 y Fórmula 1100.
Cuando se estaban engrillando para disputar la final del TC. Juniors, apareció un fiscal del Valle de Uco, junto a la policía y personal de Gendarmería, aparentemente por haber recibido una denuncia y el festival tuerca se suspendió entre otras cosas por la gran cantidad de público presente en el autódromo alrededor de 1.000 personas según lo expresó el presidente de la FEMAD, Hugo Mari, entre pilotos, asistentes y público en general.
Lamentable primero por la situación climática, segundo por la demora entre el debate si corrían o no por el estado de la pista y luego con la presencia de justicia que hizo suspender el espectáculo tuerca.
Respecto a las finales solo se disputaron la de la 850 Grupo 1 y la Fórmula 1100, y ahora habrá que esperar cuando se disputarán las restantes (TC. Juniors, sport 4, TC. Tradicional y Monomarca Fiat)-
Algunos dicen que las mismas se podrían correr en el marco de la segunda fecha que se disputará en General Alvear.
